the only legal seat upgrade from stock seats is elite seats out of a first gen elite
they bolt straight in

the second gen seats and the third gen seat may require
enginerring new stud points and slide modification

might I add the elite seats are pretty good :) I always get comments about their comfort haha
you can get a decent set fairly cheap, and it saves the hassle of getting it legal and all that.

I reckon if someone has gone to the effort of pointing out your seats are illegal they could surely find something else that is!!

Anyway, never done it myself. But as has been said, Elite seats are nice... but theres also the Elante & GT styles which are sooo much better to sit in than the normal ones!

I just did a 1,000km round trip to mt gambier and back in gt2600 last sunday!! I towed a motrbike trailer and picked up a heavy bike i bought there... went there and back no dramas!!! haha why am i writing that in here? oh yeah... seats... wasnt uncomfortable at all, 1st gens with better seats are so comfortable!

Let us know which way you go!

or grab some se seats. i just bought a tn se (carbie motor but interior like an elite) (i have a tp executive, efi motor but budget interior) and the seats seem to have almost twice the foam/comfort/feel compaired the the executive seats.
Plus ive seen twice as many se models than elites.

Thanks for the replies.

I have a "GT" and the seats are nice but a little soft so i was going to throw some VRX or RALLIART seats in but i'll go and see if i can track down some Elite or SE seats.

anyone got some for sale in Sydney ?

Proving to be a nice, cheap little runaround car.
