Well yesterday me and my mate replaced my front rotors and pads, we bedded them in after and took it for a drive and it was all good no dramas, my steering is no longer shaking when the brakes are applied:D
After a while i started to hear a scraping sound coming from the front drivers side, put it back up on the jack, found the dust shield was rubbing on the rotor, no big problem just pushed it back out of the way with the help of a hammer.

This morning when i was driving home the ABS light came on the dash and stayed on the entire trip, i got home, started the car again and no it's no longer lighting up, I've driven about 50kms since we did the brakes yesterday. I'm guessing its got something to do with the wheel speed sensor? If i jack it up again what should i be looking for to fix the problem?

If it doesn't come on again I wouldn't be worried about it.It could have just randomly faulted itself. Check ABS still works though. Were you doing more than 160km/h when it came on? (Does your car go that fast?) Excessive speeds can cause them to fault

lol i was doing about 100 i think, yeah ok ill give it a few days and if it doesn't come on again i won't worry about it, havent checked if the abs is still working, will do later, are the speed sensors sensitive to getting knocked around, im worried i may have damaged it possibly when hitting the dust shield with a hammer to get it off the rotor.

They are very sensitive, but if you broke one, ABS would be activating every time you brake, so you have possibly just knocked one out of alignment.

Coincidence lol I just worked out how to fix mine last night.......

If it is still tripping (it may trip at a certain speed, mine was tripping at 80km/h) you need to adjust the sensor with the two adjuster bolts (12mm) so it is as close to the hub as possible without touching it. Make sure you rotate the wheel to check it doesn't rub against the sensor or you will bugger it. Also make sure the sensor is aligned straight.

That should fix it if it's tripping but if the light doesn't come back on that means no faults and you should be all good
