Anybody replaced one of these on a 3rd Gen?
I read in an old thread (TF Magna) that the OP just unbolted the plate and replaced the o ring.
I bought an o ring and...
I had a go removing the end plate but the Coolant Manifold was in the way. How much/little of the engine do I need to disassemble to replace this $3 o ring.

8mm bolt with a 12mm effective thread length should do it

Also from memory if the bolt is still a little long, you may just have to use a flat file on the thermostat area to maximise the space and manipulate the bolt into place

So I'm after an M8 x 1.25 x 12mm bolt. Had another look this morning. Even that will be tight. I will use the file with caution. With this being such a common problem, I'm surprised the coolant manifold wasn't modified on the later models.
