ARGGHHH
okay. I talked with Boozer last night about my headlights (very very dull and yellow even tho i do have philips globes in them, blue) so i went and bought some Philips Xtreem +80% globes. My lights were still yellow and were about 5% better. Still (what i'd call) substandard.
Now im a person who loves having lights that actually work. Is it a TF problem? Should i go to wreckers and get some new headlight cases?
If its a power problem, is there anyone that can help me make a 'switch rally' or what ever to help boost it up? Will pay labour.
Anyone got any ideas? :(

Check your fuses, its possible its blown but a tiny bit of metal is still touching, therefore causing very low amounts of electricity to get through - relay could be stuffed too, other then that - Install some relays :)

normally yellow lights would indicate a bad earth.Check your earth points and battery cables for corrosion.

The battery is kinda old/ugly. I might try getting a new battery tomorrow..
Just gotta get a good brand new battery.
thanks

All my fuses were fine, someone else said about a dirty battery could be an issue? i might try getting a new battery because mine is kidna dirty.
I might try contacting a AMC member to help install a relay because i cant do it and i dunno if its worth going to a mechanic for it :-S

yeah i would put it down to a crook earth, have you gone any higher in wattage? if so you may need a bigger gauge wire to supply them with enough power

i dont think i have gone up in wattage. when i got the car, i had to get a major service so i got the new globes installed but they are very poor light.
I am going to return the globes i got and get a new battery instead. Is it hard to upgrade the 'gauge wire'?

Not being a smarty pants, but highly unlikely IMO,as every fuse i have ever replaced in my liftime has been blown or not blown, not inbetween, not saying it cant happen, but is VERY rare ideed, and each headlight has a separate fuse anyways,so shouldnt be a issue, same with the relay
In my opinion, sounds like dirty/bad reflectors or voltage drop,as a globe will get yellower with less volts at its terminals,it also decreases a globes life span as it does not get to go through the halogen cycle, get a multi-meter and measure the volts at the terminals, then at the light connector, this will show the VD through the light circuit,oh,do not expect the Philips extreme to be really white,as this is not possible as they are not coated, however they will be whiter than normal halogen for sure as they burn the filament hotter (4000 Kelvins for the Xtreme V 3200 for standard)
I would get it to a Auto elec and get him to fit a heavy cable direct from the B+ terminal on the battery direct to the postive battery post so it gets full charge and reduced voltage drop, then fit relays and associated wiring to the headlight circuits if found to be lacking, then if your still not happy put some Philps Rally 90/100 H4`s in the low and philips H1 100w rally in the highs, best light output possible, but they certainly need a relays
Also a bad earth would only effect one light aswell,as each runs a seperate ground

Thanks steve, you've given a deep insight into both my posts :)
I will ring my local mechanic tomorrow, ask him how much it would be to get all that done (i will print it out and show him) and see if they can do it when i dont need my car. its damn annoying, never had this problem before.
So you dont think i will need a new battery? I dunno if it would just be a good idea to get a new one, **** idk im not good with electrical stuff on cars! Lol

Glad to help mate, but i would take it to a sparky if you can,its their bread and butter so to speak,if he`s capable and can do the testing and know what size wire to use etc etc,go your hardest though,Oh,and i highly recommend cole Hersee H4 H/duty connectors, they work a treat
Oh,have read on this,expalins voltage drop,rrlays etc,very good read!

i got a quote from a local mechanic for about $300 to replace everything, loom and create new relays (worst comes to worst).
but a friend who is mechanicly minded said he might be able to do it for wayyy cheaper :) so yeahh
thanks for all your help :)
