Hey all,

Does anyone know much about Valves sticking in guides? I think I might have 1 thats playing up but im unsure.

Symptoms:

Car sounds like a subaru
No excess smoke
1 tappet gets VERY loud

What can be done about this?

Cheers,
Ben

If the lash adjuster has totally collapsed you will ahve the same issue, valve not opening properly and thus runs like crap

Change the offending lash adjuster first and if still an issue then it is head off to fix

Yes you do have roller rockers but there is a lash adjuster in the rocker arm and these are a big issue especially on the older engines

Well update on this,

It was my lash adjusters. Thankyou Mal (Madmagna) for the help. Its now fixed and not sounding like a subaru. Cost me about 200 inc labour and parts and I got my cam seal done as well. They were $9.90 per adjuster

Most important thing...Does the car not backfire and run GOOD now?

Hahaha, it runs 100% better than what it did. Now as for running good, depends. haha

I am 99.99% sure its down to fuel management and tuning issues now, so its almost there.

Ive got myself a bid on a Turbosmart 1:1 fuel reg which I will put on the car when I get home and spend a day trying to remap my ECU with a mate.

Just gotta figure out how to turn my EBC back on. Its currently disabled

Put it this way... on 5psi, it will wind past 200km/hr (max speed on dash) easy :)
