Just stopped off at mits on the way home and ordered a vrx muffler for my tj exec $330
I priced the lukey version at a couple places they wanted $200 for it plus the exhaust shops wanted another 80 to 100 to bend up the pipe work!!!! so thought why not only another 30 bucks and got a genuine one.. pick it up on tues....

maybe u should have ordered the sports mitsu rear muffler.. the vrx one should have a straight tip on it which wont work on your car

On the topic of mufflers, would this fit a vrx? Guy says it fits his 'after fitting vrx kit' but i think the underbody of the vrx as opposed to non sport models is different?

If it's from Perry exhaust's (which im sure it is) and the part number starts with AL, then its inc pipework to flange ;)

That is a great price for a factory muffler, will last longer than any after market muffler and at the same time will have no drone like a lot of after market mufflers have

Each to their own but I have had enough of after market ones and love my nice quiet car lol

Totally agree Mal. If you want quiet/no drone then genuine is the best.

No, they don't come with a tip.

Yeah they are exactly the same muffler other than the tip.
The sports muffler has the single tip facing down and the vrx has the straight tip that needs the vrx bumper to fit.
Made the right choice mate.

I have to disagree... id rather spend $200 for the lukey AL4-5597 and $5 for the flange and bolt it straight on myself. But each to their own and not everyone will enjoy the note it gives.

just an update fitted the new muffler and it sounds great no droning and not loud enough to attract to much attention... also notice the throttle difference well my mate did driving it around (lost my licence:cry: )
next on the list tint and 380 side indicators

i went to chadstone mits in vic they had a book on the parts counter full of magna accesseries and it was in there they knew straight away what i was after and i picked it up 2 days later part number on my reciet is "MR924731"
but thats the sports muffler (different tip)
Payed $290 for the muffler plus an extra $47 for shipping and gasket
