Just noticed my TE magna is leaking something on in the driveway. Not a awful lot but few drops
It looks like water and is thin like water but doesn’t feel like water..more like oil. It is yellow as well. It also doesn’t dry like water..there is a mark still on the concrete from last night.
Any ideas before i take it in to mechanics? its coming from the drivers side of the engine and from what i remember there is no water on that side of the engine.
try getting underneath and see where it is coming from. Look for damp spots in the bay. Washer tank is on drivers side

i would do a full engine degrease, then drive the car for 30mins or so
then recheck the engine to see where its leaking

its just the little bit to far to see..not the washer tank. The drops look like they are falling from a bit higher up. Its the yellow colour that gets me confused.

Not too sure about the fluid but as posted earlier best bet is to degrease or clean around that area and go for a drive. Check it out afterwards. If you have the tools maybe try and make some room by taking stuff out like the washer bottle.

Can't say I know. My car also has a leak that can't be found.
On a diff note, ever been to the car wash and it's got the engine bay clean out? Cause my car has one of those 'mysterious' oil leakes that my mechanic nor I can find so needs a good clean out. But I've always been worried about spraying the engine. Has anyone here used it? And should the car be on or off? Prob a stupid question but an in-law had a ford that he couldn't clean out the bay unless the car was on cause it wouldn't start back up. Ford - lol

If it is a manual could be gear box fluid
Also the Mits power steering fluid is a yellowish colour

Have a look in this part of hte engine:
in the middle, right at the back top (confusing i know)
The power stearing tube i think :-S i had a bit of a leak but its fixed.
look around and see if there is any drips down the back there, cause it might just be falling through :-S

I know you said it doesn't seem like coolant, but could it be a weep from the seal of an aging water-pump? - its at that end of the engine.
Or if the o-ring behind the water-pump (connecting pump to the tube running through the engine "valley") was seeping, where would that tend to appear?
These questions half-directed at Mal, who has recently done an excellent job on my old "beast" - including water pump.

check the tube that runs from the rear tappet cover to the large black rubber air intake tube just before the throttle assembly. This feeds oil fumes etc into the induction manifold. The tube fits onto a spout that often cracks and leaks oil that eventually drips down over the back of the transmission and onto the road underneath. Run you finger around the end of the tube and see if it comes back covered in oil.

Have a look at the lower contol arm mount - they are liquid filled similar to the engine mounts and they drop a strange slippery tacky substance
I was getting 1 drop every so often and it was not tranny / power steer fluid or oil and it was on the drivers side just in from the wheel
