Hell F^&*^*&^N Yeah i said it, hell or high water id get a verada, and indeed i have! woo!
Its a '02 Series 2 GTV verada. Stock standard, so vrx running kit, sports suspension/exhaust, std gps and nardi trim/steering wheel.
so now iam full of questions which ill fire off nilly willy, and please feel free to tell me to search harder if need be.
Mind you unfortunetly the actually paint exterior isnt 1st class aka lots of key/hairline scratches and being a black car it shows, so will eventually try get a respray.
The front/rear bumper has sum decent dings and bings and will definetly need replacing..so hopefully pray for the best and get some nice rada black front and backs.
inside the seats need cleaning(leather) and the front console woodgrain is cracked so that will need replacing, a minor crack but a crack none the less.
actually missing a mitsu logo on only of of the rim hubs so have to track one of those down.
also the keyless entry consoles need their batteries replaced which iam sure can be done at any mitsu dealer.
all important the engine seems to be i check, and oh so smooth and wow..the power and kick is amazing!
did purchase it from nsw so now must go throught the whole process of transferring rego to victorian one.
now further mods planned are definetly 20" rims, no more, no less.
clear side indicators/chrome rear lights/ door handles.
lowered to superlows.
one thing that is worrying me is that on the ody theres a paint nick which has revealed rust, is that a very VERy big time bom ticking? or just something can that be covered?
theres also a bit of rust on the drivers seat rail, once again is that just from neglect and can it be just scrubbed/polished off?
annd lastly can windows be tinted...further? because the gtv's are tinted, but i wouldnt mind them darker? lil ol niggling me.
but for now after all that iam just god damn gosh darned stoked i got my own verada!!
and one day ill have it looking smoother then michael jordans head!!

Congrats, Hope you enjoy the Rada!!!
Few Points - hopefully if your car included the "Operators Manual" (glovebox booklet), you can read-up on some features of the car.
Keyless Entry Remotes - Battery: You can change the batteries in these yourself, no need to take it to a Dealer. HOWEVER, you need to be careful, as the battery clip can easily pull the battery contacts off the circuit board.... its possible this may have happened to your already (dropping the remotes can have same effect, mass of battery causes bad solder joints or breaks at the circuit board). Battery is CR2032 size, remote is opened by levering the two halves of the remote apart - a dinner knife is ideal.
Keyless Entry Remotes - Programming: The remotes can easily be programmed to your car, may have to do this after a remotes battery change. Need to have all the remotes with you at one time, Operators Manual explains the procedure - else SEARCH these forums as good instructions have been posted before.
Wheel Centre Caps: Before you chase replacements, check that the spare tyre doesn't have the centre cap fitted to that wheel..... its common that in changing a flat, folks don't know ( or cbf ) clipping the centre-cap from one wheel to the other.
Woodgrain Lower Console - Cracked: the Mitsi Clearance place in Adelaide has/had new-old-stock of the woodgrain gearshift panel at about $35- (spares are priced in the couple hundred mark, I believe). However, the woodgrain print may be from a model older than yours. Mitsi Clearance also has the "coin tray/power socket" insert - but in a bit different woodgrain finish the the console...... they do NOT have (on my last visit) the lidded cupholder section - but if coins and cups in your console are OK, they can be swapped into a new console panel.
*** EDIT *** EDIT : Sorry my bad, the cracked console is different part than I thought. Mitsi Cearance didn't have any Climate/Stereo panels when I was there (at all, let alone woodgrain). Search FORUM for Centre Console Removal tips - several excellent how-to and DIY threads. You might be able to bog that panel up from the back and make crack virtually invisible.
Clearance place likely to have the Operators manual, also Wreckers often sell them cheap, else EBay.
Search FORUMS here, there are PDFs of Misti Gen Workshop Manuals in links from Tech Torque forum. I have "Haynes" manual for these cars - tho I suspect it has NOTHING about GTV's. Does cover some magna-vs-verada stuff tho. It's handy to have.
*** EDIT ENDS *** EDIT ENDS ****
Chrome Rear Lights Mod: Remember that Verada tails are bit different than Magna tails, in that Verada has Reverse lights in the bootlid, not in the tail-light unit. If you want aftermarket Chrome tails (not my taste, but....) you may want to mod-up some extra Reverse lamps in the tail unit or blank that piece off - just something to think about.
GPS: Sadly, you will not be able to update maps for the GPS if its the factory-fit unit. No longer supported, or so I have been tols and read in here.
Search Forums for some of your questions if you think its a fairly common issue - eg: remote batteries and remotes programming def have info in these forums.
I'll sign-off by adding to the "pics or ban" chorus.
But mostly, enjoy your new beast. Make sure you get some basic services of engine and tranny attended if you suspect that any jobs have been neglected. My family have had bad luck with that auto in 2 cars, but there's no cheap way to avoid the problem we had. Enjoy the drive back to Mexico from "up here" (NSW),
Cheers

and theres a pic of that crack in the upper centre console.

wow thanks for the heads up..on everythin phil..amazing info.
haha i am one of those idiots who didnt think about the spare mitsu cap. duh! lol
i figured most of the aforementioned parts could be replaced, just a simple task of tracking it all down. no probs there.
pity about the upgrading of the gps system tho coz even in sydney i had issues with the damn tolls and roads there using the blaupunkt!!
huge thing was no owners manual so hence no knowledge so ill track one down, seriously thinking of tripping to s.a for the clearence centre to pick up a few things, and invest in a repair manual for the lil bits and pieces i can probably change myself!
once again all the info is invaluable and greatly appreciate it all...iam off to oggle at my machine!!:bowrofl:

situated in the s.e suburbs, aka malvern/glen iris.
iam yet to clean it myself and i think some bugs are starting to ferment from the drive from sydney.
i just hope my paint job hasnt been raped too far and is still repairable, otherwise ill just have to wait around for a respray. praying i dont have too ofcourse!
i think first on the list is clean, both inside and out, replace spark plugs, change oil, top of fluids that need it and replace filters.
THen hand it to a mechanic to work brakes, transmission, if need suspension/joints and alignment. Id love to do it myself but somehow i dont trust myself/never done that stuff.
Also tomrrow will head out and track down an operator manual and service manual hopefully from wreckers!
So much to do..so lil time, damnit!

u can download the mits service manual from the third gen forum...
Looks like a nice Verada to me! Light scratches and so fourth in the paint are usually the sort of thing you can cut and polish out, its paint fade and stone chips etc you should fear! :P Either way from what you've said sounds like your car just needs a good detail, not a respray.
If you ever need a hand with anything interior wise let me know, I'm in Glen Iris god knows how many times a week, and my car spends nearly as much time with the interior out as it does in, so I'm more than happy to stop by if you ever need a hand with anything :)
Can help with the programming of new remotes and whatever too if your not sure, but its a 30second process, just make sure you've got all the remotes you want connected to the car with you when you do it. Pretty sure they come with the instructions on how to program in the pack.
