An accessory that is available from MMAL for the 380 is a Parcel Net. As implied it is intended to secure smaller objects in the boot.

A pic from the 380 brochure.

Has anyone else on here purchase one of these?

I recently purchased it, but can not work out how to install it.

The kit comes with 4 plastics hooks that are intended to screw over existing threaded barbs approximately behind the tail lights. These threaded barbs exist behind plastic caps on TL Magna's however I cannot find these on the 380. Any advise on how to install it is welcomed.

I've got one. I just hooked the elastic over the four barbs, didn't bother with the plastic hooks. Works well. BTW this is available aftermarket as mine is non Mitsu.

We never got one of these and with the amount of crap we usually have in our boot it would probably get wrecked.

I got my net from supercheap ($20 vs $lots) and just hooked it over the hooks that were already in the boot.

They work really well, one of the few things learned from owning a Getz

My mystery has been solved, it has transpired that my 380 does not have the hooks to install the parcel net.

An update has recently been sent to all Mitsubishi dealer parts counters informing them that officially no Series III 380 shipped with the hooks in place.

When Series III owners order a parcel net they also need to order the hooks.
The Part number is MR381533 they are $4 each and you need 4 of them.

I can now finally use my net.

Oh... so my series 1 has these hooks already fitted? I never noticed (don't spend much time in the boot, except to occasionally inflate the spare tyre). I wouldn't need it as my car rarely get shopping duties, but good to know though.

Out of curiosity I took a look... and I do have them (all four). Maybe I'll have to get one of the cheaper ones from an auto retailer, save things going everywhere in the boot.

My Series One had/has the hooks.

I bought a net off my local dealer and it came with four more hooks, which confused me at first because I started looking for where to mount the four extra hooks before I twigged that I didn't need them.

So now I have four brand new unused hooks.

Anyone in SA want them?

Going cheap at $25 each, pick up only!

Gotta recoup the rip off price I paid the dealer before I discovered through this thread that I could have got much the same thing from SuperCheap for $20.

So, $100 for a set of 4 plastic hooks. Bargain. Any takers?

So passing the rip off onto club members? Nice.

C'mon guys, I was only stirring!

Seriously, anyone who wants them can have them for nix, just give me a pm.

If you're in Adelaide you can pick them up, if interstate about $3 postage should cover it.

BUT - I just compared the spare hooks with the ones already in the car and they are very different!

The spares are much smaller, and instead of a lug that twists into the hole in the boot they have a small screw hole.

I can only guess that Series 111 380s have small bolts behind the boot lining instead of the holes that Series 1 & 2 have.

See pic - the hook that came with the car is on the right, the new one that came with the net is on the left.

The small hooks that come with the Mitsubishi parcel net are not for the 380.

The same net is sold for TL / TW Magna. The small hooks screw onto the barbs behind the stop lights on the Magna once the black plastic caps are removed.

I too received these small hooks with my parcel net.

I had one of these nets in my KJ and yes the mounting hooks were the smaller ones that screwed onto the existing screw threads in the boot

Just checked my boot today (putting a pram in there) and noticed those hooks for the very first time; 2 on each side.
