I know this has been asked before  but I can't find it with a search..
For people with splits, especially those who mounted the tweeter in the door sail pods, where did you put the crossover? I suppose the options are inside the car in the footwell so you have to run two cables through the wiring grommet, or somehow attach it to the door and just run one wire.
It looks like there are plenty of cavities between the door trim and the door panel where I can mount the chunky crossover box and I'm thinking some stick on velcro will hold it and allow it to come off if I need.. but is that dodgy?
What have other people done?

mine are in the boot!
but i did this so i can run the splits active when i get a another amp!
You can run the crossovers anywhere but be sure not to put them too close to anything electrical in the car. ;)
If you're planning on mounting them in the doors be wary of water too. :)

talking about water, how to do completely seal off a door ir you have to run the cables to the splits, window lever, lock and all that????
please enlighten me?
If you have to pass cables through you cannot completely seal it dude.
You shouldn't COMPLETELY seal it anyway as most midrange speakers are designed to run free-air. You just need to make sure there is no air leaking around the immediate cone or areas around it.

The cables go from the back of the speaker, through the door cavity, then out the door grommet... this shouldn't cause a sealing issue. Irrespective, the door inner skin has so many locking rods, etc that you can't get it completely airtight. I have instead covered the majority of the access holes with sound deadener and have vastly improved the sound quality. BTW, free air does not mean that you should have an enclosure with leaks all through it.
My crossovers are mounted on either side of the center console in the footwells; I screwed them into the carpet-covered plastic panels with self tapping screws... once the screws are removed you can fluff up the carpet and it will cover the holes.

in the magna i have my crossovers mounted in teh kick panels - but i have my tweeters moutned on the A Pillar as it was the best placement i could find for my setup.
In a lancer i did recently though where the speaker is mounted on the door trim - we left the crossover in the door - however we put it in a plastic bag that it came in in the box - and cable tied it tight around the cables - also - this is the plastic / foam bag - to give it a bit of padding from the P Plater driving it ;)
