hey im a lil confused with my manual tj magna i have herd that the engines with black rocker covers are the 6g74. mine has black rocker covers but says its a 6g72 on the engine number its a 2000 model if that helps...i just want to know what engine i have... cheers

I have a 6g72 with black rocker covers - Is it an Exec?

The TH and early TJ1 still had 3lt's in exec models :)

no mate the 6g72 (3.0) with silver rocker cover (only the front one) was TE then TF on had the black just like 6g74 (3.5) someone has given you the wrong info mate.

Actually i believe some of the early TJs came with the option of the 6G72 3.0L V6 engine

To the OP, check the VIN with Mitsu they will tell you exactly what your car came with

You have answered your own question! Its a 3.0.

TE and KE had silver front cover.

ALL other models came with black

TE, TF only had 3.0 (or 4 bankger if that is your flavour) TH and early TJ had option of 3.0 or 3.5

KE > KW ALL had 3.5
