Hey guys.
as some of you may have read in my members lounge thread, I am currently making white dials for my TE Magna!
I also wanted to do the air con panel at the same time. BUT, I got it out from behind the surround, but how do I get the knobs off so I can take off the panel?
I pulled the little one off, but the others wont budge!

PLEASE HELP ME! How do I take them off?!!?!?!?!?

Move out from the dash, on top there are 2 screws, the lower section is held on with clips that will pop when you remove it

Once the screws are out (one is at an angle) you will then need to hold the top of the panel with your fingers behind it and push on the heat and air control with your thumbs, will pop out

I assume they would pull off, if you do damage it its no biggy, just grab a spare from the wreckers.

If OP means he needs to pull the knobs off the air-con fascia panel, its best to have removed this fascia panel from the car first. You will need to follow Mal's instructions, then unclip cables etc.

The knobs are pushed in fromthe front when that panel is assembled, and they have plastic tabs at the back which lock the knob in - HOWEVER, once you have that control panel out - fascia and knobs - you will see how the knobs hold the mechanism together - the heat control is kind of like a crown-wheel and pinion set-up.

I once levered the heat-control knob off using pliers on the knob, whilst in the car. half the mechanism fell out, down inside the console. Trip to dealers, who wanted $500- to replace the machanism - I was literally around the block from Dealers, so went to workshop with all speed I could muster, found the missing bits and helped them to click it all back together and reassemble. Naturally, being dealers, they left the connector off the hazard switch, so with no blinkers whatsoever - it was back I went - they managed (I know not how) to reconnect the loom without pulling the console apart a second time.

However, if you pull that air-con fascia out you'll see how its assembled and it should be straightforward for you to pull-apart and reassemble.
