Problem.
KS Rada, W/cruise.
Has the 3 cable setup with all 3 coming from that box on the firewall. Never mucked around with this setup before. But the accelerator cable is VERY TIGHT, as in REALLY hard too press down. throttle opens 100% when the foot is all the way down but its very very sticky.
what can I check/adjust (easy system) to make it "less tight"?

have you tried loosening the cable on the TB? Does this car have this capability?

Why would it be any different to any other KS verada?

Check nothing is getting caught, it might just need some lube somewhere. Thats how I fixed my crappy accelerator cable on my verada (3rd gen though)

I dont have much experience on the 6G72. I know the Astron has two bolts where the accelerator cable bolts to the inlet.

Feels like its still from the pedal.
From pedal the cable goes to a box on the firewall where it wraps around something there, also there is another cable going into it from what I presume to be something to do with cruise control, then 1 cable comes out to the TB. so there are a few more things to check then just 2 bolts.
Those 2 bolts on the plenum shouldn't make a difference aswell as they are just a slider, they dont tighten or anything.

anyone else who might KNOW?!

Just had a glance through the Cruise Control chapter of the 2nd Gen Workshop manual - doesn't look like anything to do with cruise should cause a problem - you could take the cover off the cruise cable-box and look for obvious mechanical interference in there.

Otherwise just look for kinks or pinching of the full length of the throttle cable upstream and downstream of cruise stuff. Nothing up with the accellerator pedal itself - looms catching up under it etc? Are throttle cables in good nick - ie: plastic outer isn't damaged anywhere leading to lube of cable drying up (or rusting) and catching ?

That's about all I can think of. I'd just be tracing from pedal out, or throttle-body back, and trying to guage where on the run of cable you think the resistence/sticking is happening....

Thanks. That's what i needed to know, just that there isn't an adjuster or what knot to check. Guess I'll give it a good looking over whenever I get a chance to work on the car next. Thanks mate, if I cant work it out I'm putting in a standard non cruise cable.

use the manual TUFFY to check the gap between the throttle plate and the TB housing. If the butterfly is able to close to far (and i mean like .3 of a mm from sitting perpendicular to the housing) it gets very sticky/ stuck, it always closes but you need quite a push to get the throttle to unstick from the closed position, yet will operate in a perfectly normal way when inuse.

nah mate, that's not the issue its hard ALL the way down, not just initially, so from idle to WOT the pedal feels like its rubbing. I'll have to check it out from inside though, from the engine bay side the cable looks fine.

if you have the patience, you could disconnect the throttle cable at the accel.pedal under the dash, and then test for resistance to motion on the peddle with no cable attached and pull the cable with some pliers to see if its the cable somewhere getting caught. THe correct lube is graphite i believe, graphite powder downthe cable tubing.

Twist the thing where the cable connects with your hand, if it's easy then the cable/pedal is at fault, if it's hard it could either be just that or all 3!
