went shopping around for exhausts today, looking for a Lukey, haven't heard rave reviews about redback but anyway, I rang Mr. Muffler in preston and the one out south and apparently lukey don't supply to them anymore, if they want to fit a Lukey exhaust they have to order it by COD and they can't quote you a price, seemed like absolute rubbish but he couldn't give me a firm price so I left

Went to the exhaust shop literally 1 KM up the road and got a firm quote of 240, including Lukey muffler and 2 or so metres of piping - no tip... for now!

Just wondering if there was anyone else I should look at? Others places I rang couldn't do quotes unless I drive in, I figure if I go to every place in Melbourne I myswell have just went with the 240?

I have looked at other prices and quotes people got on here, but giving mine is a wagon I thought they might differ

Also, would there be any problems in having no tip for awhile?

240 fitted? Might want to look into that and find out exactly what you getting, because the lukey mufflers alone are around the 220 mark.

If you want the bolt on lukey (AL4-5597) just go to supercheap and order it around $200 even and a couple bucks for the rear flange gasket and just bolt it on yourself. Quick simple job, no more than 15mins to do on your own.

That would have to be a trade price or the guy f'ed up and gave you their cost figure, I was quoted about $290 from them for that exact item mid last year. Supercheap do have them around the $205 mark, but remember these are bolt on for a sedan, I don't believe the wagon's have the same exhaust entirely, so they may not bolt right up.

Better off getting a LR2779 if you ask me and getting it cut and welded in, which is I dare say what you got the quote for and $240 is a good price for that. Most places will do them from rear flange inc. tip for $300-400, so its about right when you minus off the tip.

Well considering I'm a tradie, it is my price :) The LR2779 wasn't much more or less when I called up regarding that one either.
