View Full Version : Windscreen washer nozzle "dribbles"

I know this seems like a strange thing for someone with a car that has a habit of randomly not starting to complain about but whenever I use the windscreen spray on my TS magna after I spray, some of the liquid runs from the nozzle along the bonnet and leaves a mark (which does bother me because I like to keep my car clean, like, obsessively  ).

My question is, does this usually happen on 2nd gens and if not, is there a way I could stop it from happening (apart from not using it). Also, what does everyone else usually use as windscreen washer fluid?

Thanks

Our dog dribbles sometimes, you just gotta say "NO BAD, NAUGHTY!"... thats seems to make it stop .. lol ahah jokes

AHah on a more serious note, maybe you just need to clean out ur nozzles? They could be slightly blocked so they are dribbling..

Rip out a piece of wire from a wire brush and poke it into the hole, should clean it out. if not, "borrow" some from the wreckers and have small stockpile until one finally works good:P

Yep mine were blocked and not even hitting the windscreen, the spray went straight over the roof of my car on one side and the other side just drizzled, i used a wire brush and poked at it for ages until i finally got them both hitting the windscreen, mine still drizzles onto the bonnet, but my windscreen never gets dirty enough to use the washers anymore because i wash the car that often.

I use a needle to clear them, and you can rotate the jet to go exactly where you want it to, just stick the needle in and manouvre them

Yeah i worked that out eventually, i thought i broke them at first when they started moving, the problem was they were blocked and the little water squeezing through was just going over the roof, does anyone know if you can turn the nozzles to the side? I remember doing this in my friends car one day and driving out of school past the lines of kids waiting for the bus and squirting people hehe good times.

Thanks, I shall try the wire idea, just out of curiosity tho, what wiper fluid does everyone use? I use the armour all wiper fluid stuff that say low foaming formula but it foams like a pitch.

Btw the drive thru idea sounds like a good idea, but I bet it leaves them thinking "Gee, I am so glad I spat in that guys burger anyway"

I just put some windex into the bottle then fill it up with water, works well enough for me when i need to use them.

I treat my glass with Rain-X and fill the bottle up with plain water.. Only every use it for a dusty windscreen, rain spotted windscreen or the odd small bug..

If my windscreen gets too splattered with bugs I wont clean it with the wipers, I will either wash it by hand or pull into a servo and clean with the squeegee..

Saves the performance of the blades then..
