probably a bit more detail needed. did you turn it off and it wouldnt start, did it stop whilst driving. probably need the scenario bud.

first things first, find out if you are actually getting any spark. take a plug out and sit it on something metal, get someone to spin her over and see if its sparking consistently, since you only have 4 plugs, try them all. then you know whether it's a fuel / ignition issue

My TS 2.6 has done this TWICE. Each time it was a dead ignition coil. First it was replaced with a new coil ($95) but this died after 2 years. Got a coil from U-Pull-it ($11) and it works fine. This could be your problem, if your spark has disappeared.

ok no spark when cranked over with a plug out and connected to a lead and eathed to the motor , just drove it into carport and when she went to use it again no fire ,I'm guessing it may be a coil or distributor ????????

The same thing happened to my 2.6 TS fairly recently, the only difference is that mine would spontaneously fix itself after a while. The mechanics tried replacing some stuff but then it happened again about a week later, took it back and he had a look at the computer, he pulled it out and couldnt see anything wrong but it hasnt happened again since. I think it may have been a loose connection where the computer plugs in, but I'm just waiting for it to happen again...

sounds a lot like the coil, that would be the first thing I would replace.. just make sure all your leads pushed in properly, maybe even give them a bit of a clean if they look dirty

Check all leads, use a multimeter to check resistances, look inside the distributor cap for obvious problems like disintegrated centre carbon contact first. Check the wiring plug into the distributor for dirt, poor contact.
Grab a coil from local wreckers, with power transistor and supressor attached. If that doesn't fix it, go back for the distributor.
The first time the coil died on my car, I pulled the coil, distributor and ECU out and took it to a specialist to check. Was expensive, but he located the problem /suppled new coil.
The second time I lost spark I suspected the coil. Replaced it and off it went. Bosch coils either work or they don't. After market coil (Non Bosch, $75) will go into the boot soon as a spare.

Thanks it was the distributor now it stalls in reverse I think they will get rid of it as it has been just one of those cars
