so... i'm pretty much broke and my car due for a service soon. It has only 75K on it but i think according to the service book, it should getting the 90K service. I tried to call few service shop and they said all depends on the car, they don't even want to tell me the range. So I'm wondering if anyone knows how much is the typical 90K service? I don't want to have it serviced then turned out i don't have enough money to pay for it. i will be so embarrassing if it happen

the car pretty much in good condition, no complain so far. the brake pads had been replaced on the last service and i just had it converted to LPG late last year with IMPCO kit. will this make the service more expensive?

I'm confused. Your car has 75,000kms on it, but you need the 90,000kms service done?

Im guessing due to the time between services?

It usually says XXXXXkm or 24months or something along those lines?

I got my 90k done at a dealership (whom seem to charge a bit more), i also asked them to do the spark plugs and timing belt (which need to be done every 100k), all up it costs just under (or just over i don't remember) $800, without this, i think you will be looking at closer to ~$400 as it is a major service.

Check out this site it'll give you an estimate.

http://www.car service.com.au/car-service-servicing-guide-2.aspx (remove the space between car and service as the automatic sensor doesn't like the letters in car service.... specifically after c and before the second r)

If I were you I'd do a plain basic service and actually wait until the car actually reaches 90,000km to do the factory service as this service is a major service replacing the timing belt etc which is expensive

I did the 90k service myself, its oil, filter, front plugs and i think gearbox oil, if u can pick up a spaner u can do it yourself.

so you didnt bother with the timing belt..

mate, just pull out your log book and do the 75k service.. wait till it hits 90k for a 90k service...

hy_boi reckons the gearbox oil is changed during the 90k service... im pretty sure its listed to be done at the 75k service... which means that if you miss the 75k service you wont get a gearbox oil change

I can't remember if it was gearbox oil or not, I did it anyway cause the service history wasn't that flash on my car.

Belts are at 100k also the rear bank of plugs, check your owners manual. right hand side down the bottom. Plus if you're tight for money do the stuff u can do yourself, get the big stuff, eg the 100k stuff done at a shop.

But like I said, 90k stuff if u can hold a spanner u'll be right.

To the OP,

PM me and I will pass on my details mate, I can take care of the car for you no worries.

I would just stick to the service by Mileage for most items and perhaps move forward fluids to be changed sooner.
