Hey Guys
Wondering if anyone knows much about the windows on 1999 Verada Xi model. Im getting a window tint done on my car and its from Tint-a-car where they have the darkest legal tint called midnight express. Now the thing im concerned about here is that a stock Verada already they have a slight tint on the windows called mitsubishi's Ez-kool glass. Now If the guys from tint-a-car put this new car tint on the standard EZ-Kool glass would it be legal?? Note this is in NSW.
And does anyone know how much it would cost to do the front wheel bearings or a new hub. My car recently got a NSW rego check and the guy said that it only just passed but has too much play in the front right wheel. Does anyone know a rough estimate.
Cheers

It probably depends, what are they charging if you dont mind me asking... They may remove the old tint first...
My tint is at 10% darkness which is alot darker than the legal 35% tint.
I have never been pulled up by police with this tint (*touches wood*) so I am sure that yours would not be too dark at all.
As for wheel bearings... No idea... sorry mate!

The tint is cheaper than RRP. $286 so its actually $100 off the retail price. Which i thought was a good idea to pounce on it while i could. But the thing is i want legal as possible, cause i dont want to have it go for a rego check and have the tint pulled off because it didnt pass the legal limit of 35%
Oh they also want to charge $80 to remove old tint..

$80 for removal of factory tint is a good price.
Also, if you get 35% tint over your 'tinted glass' I really wouldn't be that worried. With the amount of imports coming into the country with tint darker than 35% (20% on some models) in my opinion the laws have become a bit lax with regards to tint.
Unless your car is riced to the max, or you are driving like a tool, I don't see why an officer would pull over a verada just to defect you for having dark tint.
I personally have VERY dark tint and have been pulled over for numerous RBT's etc. and never had someone look at it twice

noticed there never the front windows that are tinted.. most imports have real dark rear tint no front tint..
my import evo has FACTORY rear tint ..guess would be around 15-20% ..with no tint on front.. this is how the car left the factory... as with alot of japanese cars... the car past compliance in australia like this
front windows are what u have 2 worry about, do what you like on the rears
isnt ez cool the name of the actual glass mitsi uses? meaning there is no film of tint to remove.
might be wrong but this is what i have always assumed, as a lot of other manufacturers do it. it allows like 95% light, while having high UV reflection properties

I know in my TJ VRX there isnt a tint film applied from the factory itself to the glass, rather the glass itself has a minor tint in it. Thats from the guy who tinted my car, very knowledgeable so sure he is right. I got 20% on mine came out at about 17% according to the tinter. I have has no worries with cops and the darkess of my tint

Thanks for the response guys. Im actually have it booked in for tomorrow. And yeah the car is pretty standard so i dont think it will be much of an issue. With what Woop said about the ez-kool glass, i thought that originally as well that the small tint sorta embedded into the glass.
Thanks for the response guys, much appreciated.
