Hey dudes and dudettes! Gosh iam so damn proud of meself, complete my first mod today, clear side indicators on my series 2 gtv! WOO! now just gotta clean, cut and polish the damn thing to make it look all pretty.

Just a quickie, my power steering resovoir is clean dry and since i dont have an operators manual i was wondering if i could you any old power steering fluid to fill it up, and any specific amout, coz from what ive heard the steering can 'burn out' if theres no fluid and thats the last thing i want!

Also iam definately lowering the thing, if possible super lows all round with 20's BUT i was talking to a mate today and he suggested go with 19's coz
a) the cost difference b/w 19 and 20's is about $500,
b) there's nicer 19 designs and most importantly
c) that by law you can only go up 2 inches from the largest rim the car comes out with, hence being the 17" stock so that means legally i can only go up to 19!
Oh and d) that a semi deep pothole can totaly kill a 20" rim since the rubber is so minimal on it!

any help would be greatly appreciated! :D

Just go to the shops and get Castrol Power Steering Fluid. Fill it up to the full marker on the dipstick.

aaah sweet! done and done! pop out tomro, hell tonite, just go down to burwood kmart and grab the steering fluid. As for the 20's dillemma is it true bout the fragility? and that if the pot hole's a B*^TCH ill have to re-machine the rims? coz THAT would be a punk-ass mofo!

Its simple, I see it as
you buy cheap rims in 17"s or 20"s and hit a pothole with decent enough force, they will buckle either way.
Re-rolling a rim is about $100, so its not something you want to do (been there done that mate)
Then again if you can afford $2200 for 20"s you can afford upkeep
