i have a 98TF with aftermarket electric windows.
what i want to do, and wonder if possible and/or ease of doing so,
is to change it all to standard electronics.
what would be required?

I'm assuming this:

find/buy some genuine power regulators, genuine inner door trims with switches.

remove the aftermarket motors and drives, manual regulators and all or most of the mechanisms, and trims.
fit the power regulators into the doors and put the glass back in.
run new wiring, genuine wiring if found, or use aftermarket wiring if suitable.
connect to the motors and genuine switches.
fit door trims on loosely or not.
connect to a power source.
test windows.
refix trims.

not sure but I think genuine windows may also be controlled through one of the car's modules.

How are the aftermarket elec windows different to standard anyway? Surely, if you just get some genuine switches you wouldnt be able to tell the difference? (Of course you would have to hook up a few wires to each reg, but it will save you a few hundred no?)

The genuine windows are quite different as the whole assembly is designed without a crank as such. The after market ones effectively just replace the crank handles with a gearbox. On some cars the ends of the crank shafts are recessed but with the Magna TE (only one I have experience with) the end off the shaft extends a little past the level of the inner door trim as it's very flat there, requiring a cap to cover it. It's possible that genuine Magna door trims with built in electric switches might bulge out enough to cover it though. I've not been able to pick any up yet. I haven't put in the front door window switches yet and might put them into the centre console instead of the doors.

it might be hard i no of cars where to do that you have to change the computer like the n16 pulsar as it runs through that
