Hi

With 99,600 km on the clock I had the timing belt changed in late Jan 09 in Sydney before relocating to Geraldton in WA. The car was transported by specialist car transport. The car now has 99,800 km on the clock. I have noticed two changes since:

1) When driving and the air con is switched on, I can hear the belt snap on indicating it or something else is not
tensioned correctly.
2) During idle, the engine is noisy with the sound coming from the air con and alternator side of the car.

I switched on the air con during idle (stationary) and the sound marginally reduced.
It is a rotational noise almost like from a bearing or pulley.

The car was not this noisy before the the timing belt was changed.

1) Any suggestions of likely problem/ causes.
2) Who is a Mitsubishi specialist in Geraldton?

Thanks

Chances are now with the new timing belt nice and tight you can hear the a/c compressor letting you know it's getting old. Mine does it too and was noticeable after the timing belt was done, if your really concerned take it to a mechanic or A/C expert but I doubt you need to worry the noise is like our creaking bones as we get older.

What sort of noise? Like a squeak or a weird kind of tacka-tacka-tacka noise?
And welcome to AMC!
