So today I got my new perforated leather door cards (mmm perforated), and the passenger side one has a rectangular hole underneath the door handle, like so:

Any idea what is meant to be in that hole? I have no idea what model magna it came out of, Maggie3.5 found em for me at the clearance house and neither does he. Ideas?

I would know how, or if its viable, but maybe make a cardboard template and get someone to make a perspex or metal one, and get it powder coated black..

Damn that sucks, cant see any neat way to fix that without a retrim.
Maybe get some Diamante power seats?

Got an auto garage door? Maybe integrate your garage door remote buttons in there somehow
Or maybe a small storage cubby hole made from fibre glass
Or just get the hole retrimmed in matching perforated leather, won't look like one single piece but at least better than a gaping hole

What about a Ralliart badge? Piece of brushed alloy?
No real point to it, but would a Rada rear-bar side-reflector be big enough to cover the hole? Its reasonably well-finished edges etc, could be painted or lit.
Some kind of bracket or holder for sunnies or mobile phone - it's a hassle being so close to power-window switches.
Make some kind of clip that could hold parking cards etc, or a notebook and pen, or pack of smokes n lighter.
I tend to use Bluetooth earpieces in the car (haven't sorted loom/radio wiring for car-phone-kit yet), and I keep the earpiece in the hollow we grab to close the car door...... if I had a car-charger for my earpiece, I would LOVE to wire it into the door for charging, in which case you could put a switch-panel in that gap to control power for that
Is it in all panels, or just that LHS front panel??

Its just the left hand front.....
... and do you think i could find a trim that didnt have a hole like that..??
hell,it was hard enough finding a full set...those people that have got full sets of trims from the mitsi house are sure lucky as,take it from me..there not much left in door trims...
..heaps of all black/grey door cards though...:facejump:

That switch on the bottom of the door map pockets is for the boot and fuel door release.

The extra panel that made the door pocket smaller was added to increase the crash "effectivness" of the magna, there is also a extra bracket and high density foam block behind it in the door.

Oh wow, I want one of those switches....

Believe me, I had my heart set on perforated leather door cards since Nov last yr - finally drove from Tamworth to Adelaide about a month back - and spent HOURS poring over Caine's treasure-cave. I swear I couldn't find a full set of anything at the time. I'd have gone for beige or black/grey in power windows, and grey of any hue in manual windows. Could find diddly!! AND got filthy two days running crawling through it all!!
Props to you, Michael, for finding the full sets at all!!

i got the ruffled set there black ish but i guess i might have to get one made up or find one at the wreckers( NEW QUESTION what models had the ruffled leather trim so i can narrow it down)
You can buy the VR-X sticker/plastic plate that usually goes over the scuff plate and place if over the hole....See PIC here (http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showpost.php?p=639328&postcount=8)

well since we seem to be trying to find ways to fill holes... that hole where the boot release/ fuel flap switch was, what can be done to fill that in?? I thought it was a pop out piece, that I could find and use, but it isn't its cut out.
What are the dimensions of the cutout at the bottom for the fuel/trunk switch?

Why wouldnt you just buy a length of perforated leather and retrim your own, cant be that hard and wouldnt cost that much.

All i did on my car when i fitted the 4 complete new door trims to my car was to use the bottom panel off my old LH door trim which didnt have the "fuel/boot" switch hole in it. The bottom panel just screws thru the door trims main piece but you do have to peel back the carpet a bit to get to the attaching screws. Hope that makes sense.

i might try a Sika special on it, cut a piece out of my old trim, make it fit from behind with a flange and super strong never coming off bond it
