Had a problem a short while ago how to up grade stereo system in my old 86 TM magna, son gave me his old stereo for the wire job that I did with his new pioneer system.
Replaced rears with new pioneers no problem.
Did some research on front and found mr. mitsubushi had a unusual size installed.
Solutions where not to my liking, don't want to hack air ducks to allow larger magnets to fit behind.
So I used 2 empty 25disk containers, some sound deadening speaker material from jaycar and 2 strips of builders gal strapping.
I will show you pic's shortly.....

Can't tell you how perfect a fit these speakers where in the spent disk containers.
It was like they where made for them.

strapping is mounted to lid of container(stuffed with sound proofing material), speaker to base, srapping picks up existing mounting holes in car...
Sound is better than old speakers and stereo field is not effected.
Also intended to put some carpet on edges of pods but haven't got to it yet.
Interesting solution! Do that on both sides and you'll have 4 speakers up front! :D
are you aware blapunkt "TH" series 4" speakers fitting in just fine into the defualt spot?
