Hi all I put a pair of Alpine splits in the doors of my 96 te and now it has lots of rattles in the doors, is there any common things that rattle that you can tell me of so I dont have to play the hunting game. I put the mids in the factory plastic panels in the doors if it makes any difference. Cheers shaun
hey hey, i got that exact same problem, even with stock speakers. it seems like the door handle is actually vibrating. i haven't fixed the problem yet tho. to make matters worse, my bootlid rattles worse

Forget it dudes... short of disassembling the entire door & padding every joint... just wait till u get subs.. my lancer with 2 12"s was more audible from rattles then music from the outside!
hahahaa my 2 12" rattle my boot pretty bad. u can hear the rattles over the actual low 'rumble' when the volume is on 1. i've been driving around with rattling door handles ever since i got the car. hasn't driven me insane yet lol

i had my doors de-rattles by a car installer (a mate of mine :D ) and now the speaker covers rattle......
can never win this game cause when you kill one, another will start.
short of sound deadening the whole car!!
This is in a TR, but for me it was the window winders, the window bracket (the bit that supports the glass), the window tracks and the support bracket for the door. He just used ordinary foam tape on them all (the weather strip stuff). Any gap that was too small to fit that tape, he used some you-beaut installer foam tape. Same stuff, except really thin. Haven't seen it anywhere else.
From what my mate has told me, those are the things that rattle first. BUT to find the rest, take a nice bassy CD, turn the bass up and the mids and highs down. you'll be able to hear which parts of the doors are rattling and when you take off the door covers, foam tape the areas you heard rattling. Anything in the general area too, juct to make sure. lol

id say sound deaden it. gets rid of rattles and when you do the front doors properly it also produces better sound. If you dont want to spend a fortune just get some flashtac and do it yourself. i know some people swear by stuff like serenity max and such, but flashtac is made in the same factory of the same line as brownbread and is less than half the price.
