the other day i went to run an amp cable through the engine bay into the boot. all was well until i put the battery back in the car 2 start it. the amp cable is not connected to the battery. i thort maybe the battery went flat, but its sitting on 88% charge. i think i may have knocked an earth cable, but i grounded it again, not sure if i did it right.

but i still get the same prob. the electrics work but when i go to start everything cuts out, even the electrics. i have to jiggle the terminals to get power again.

i've cleaned the terminals and put petrolium jelly on them like i was told to by a mechanic.

there were no probs before i started fiddling.

here are some pics to help.
the grommit i used.

From experience, that Earth cable shouldn't affect the running of your car, but it will stop the tail lights from working and dash lights if not connected!

Possibly a relay issue? They can be replaced just like fuses, they're in a separate 'fuse' box inside the engine bay.
