View Full Version : no interior lights.

Hey guys,

this is no relation to my other post. just got a day off and trying to fix some problems that have been around for a while.

interior lights dont work. and again no voltage. a bad ground?

The switches can also be a problem, if the switch on the door is dirty the light won't come on, likewise if the actual switch on the light is corroded/dirty/faulty, you won't have it come on by the door switches or by moving the interior switch. Have you check the voltage bypassing the switch (so you don't test it at the globe connectors, you test them at the actual wires? If that doesn't show anything, test the connector on the fuse box by connecting one prong to the inlet side of the fuse area and the other prong to and expose metal part of the car body. Electrics have their circuitry completed by using the car body. On a side note, I find it funny people putting massive wires to their amps and still earth it through the car body - this is where grounding kits are effective as copper wire is a better conductor that the car frame! For that matter, it could be a faulty 'earth' on the light as well!...
