Anyone know the differences between these engines?

I have a 2002 Verada GTV which has the 163kw motor at the moment, but I'm planning ahead and considering buying a used motor and manual transmission to rebuild to Ralliart spec or better for the day the current motor dies. It'll be a while yet (hopefully!) as it's only got 117k on it, but I'm expecting to take a long time to do the build so that I can spread the cost and hopefully get the best bits available.

Naturally, if I can get more than 180kw, I'll be happy to do that. I don't want to go overboard with it though, so turbo's & superchargers are out. I'm just aiming for a strong reliable motor which won't overpower the car.

lots of info on this fourm, have a quick search will turn up what u want.
but from memory, cam upgrade, piston upgrade 9.4:1 from the normal 9:1 (these are not forged)
head work, better designed extractors, tune.
thats all i can think of atm

It'd be pretty easy to get over 180 with cams, extractors, and a tune for better fuel.

Do autos have flywheels? . . I could be wrong but i thought the torque converter replaces it

the ring-gear is welded to the flex plate in an auto, in a manual it's on the flywheel..

they both bolt to the crank in the same mannar
