G'day guys! :) (long time no see lol)

I have a interesting problem.

I installed a new Fusion CA-CD500 H/U into a 2000 mod Verada yesterday, and I have sound but it doesn't light fully. Only the lights around knobs will light up.

Here is a link to the head unit. (http://fusionelectronics.com.au/australia/car-audio-1/head-units-6/cacd500-28-product.aspx)

I do recall the factory head unit didn't have background lights either, and you could only see the old black and grey liquid crystal display, and thats all.

If some one could help with some idea's, it would be really appreciated!

Thanks guys! :)

What do you mean it doesnt light fully?

As in the display does not turn on?

Check the connections on the back of the detachable face and the deck itself, my Pioneer now and then turns the screen off but the buttons are still lit - problem with the connectors not contacting properly - quick clean solved that.

Short of that, the unit itself could be faulty.

Or you only connected the dimmer lights?

Did you hook it up correctly?

I have never seem source units do that unless they are faulty. Perhaps clean the contacts between the front panel and the unit if you can take the face plate off as Ers said, I have had a few units do the same.

Thanks guys for your response!

Yeah, I have done both of what you guys have suggested, but no go. I know it is installed properly as it's my 23rd system that I have installed, and this is the first time this has happened to me lol.

I might take the face down to my dealer and test it out on his head unit and see how it goes there.

Thanks again guys! :)

Looks like a replacment unit is in order in that case.

only thing i can think of outside it being stuffed is the dimmer wire is hookde into a constant source so its always dimmed.

Problem solved! It turned out that the face was stuffed, and has been replaced and works great now.

Thanks for your help guys! :)
