I recently put some clear lenses on the courtesy lights on my front doors, at the same time i fitted some blue LED globes. The globes are different colours, ones a nice deep blue and the other is a light green/blue and it flickers.

So anyway the one that flickers doesn't turn off, when you shut the door it dims but doesn't go out completely. Not just for a short time either i first noticed it when i got up for work this morning when it was dark so it had been on all night.

if its on but mega dim its got to do with the tiny current running thru the circuit (most probably for the immobiliser system) from the bcm ive got the same problem on my dome light.... but i kinda like it

the solution ive read about is to fit a dropping resistor .... think 50ohm @20watts
a 12volt Zener diode may also work
also fitting a relay should work... solid state if you dont want an audible click

Have you tested the plug to see if there is still earth with the door closed, there can be an issue with the door switch not terminating the earth completely

You would notice it more with LED's than globes

Shouldn't be drawing much current at all. A would be thief in the dark would see it and think it is some superdooper alarm system, so leave it as it is! Otherwise, remove the door switch and test it with a multimeter - as Mal said, might not be opening/disconnecting completely.

Ok cheers for the response, ill check into it.

If i did leave it as is how long would it take to drain the battery?

I know the current must be tiny but the reason i ask is cause sometimes the car can sit for a couple of weeks between starts.
