View Full Version : Air vent ventillation fan things
Is there more than one fan? Beacuse i have the electronic controls on the box thingo behind the steering wheel (whatever you call it). Anyhoo when i set the controls to 1-3 its off, and when you go to 4 (im sure it is) it goes on.
So is there one low speed fan thats died? or is my switch broken?

i had the same problem with my tp when i first got it it turned out to be a resistor in the fan which wouldnt work on 1 or 2 but worked on 3 or 4 and if your fan doesnt work on 1 the compresser for your ac will activate but it wont be hard hope this helps

do you mean the reistor for the switch or sum thing else? cos it sounds like its just the switch, just go to a local wreckers and get the fan switch unit and try that

Same thing happens in my car - The switch is probably ok, turned out to be the resistor block in the fan unit. This is located under the dash on the far left hand side. You'll see a black plastic cylinder (which is the blower) with a four pin (I think) connector going into a small rectangular (removable) plate. If you pull this out (two screws) you'll probably notice that some of the resistor wires are broken.
I'm yet to get mine fixed, you should be able to get a good one from a wreckers though.. Let me know how much if you get one :)
alright, thaks alot sensible

ok i just finished playin with it. I pulled out the little black box (where the 4 pin connector plugs in) out and the spring/resistor that crosses the pins was broken. when i touched the other smaller one it just desintergrated...
So i guess thats wot the problem was.. i will goto wrecker or call mitsubishi tomorrow and get it fixed.. :D
