Lads got a little problem with my TF. I have had the whole thing redone with pedders sports gas shocks lowered coils sway bars strut brace anti lift kit camber kits the works. Now the car runs and handles like it on rails however whenevr i hit a smallish dip or go pretty wuick around a tight right hander ( roundabout ) then you can hear a definate thud as the front passenger side shock bottoms out. Can anyone help me out if they have had the same problems??
Also had a dude check out the springs and he thinks they are fine :doubt:
Cheers Adam

u definately sure the shock is bottoming out? coz i know lots of people have had this problem with springs not being fitted properly, and thats all i can think of seriously!
unless someone else knows what they're talking about...
First of all check the following on the side thats knocking. If these are out it will cause your coil to 'twist' when turning your wheel and then snap back into position causing it to make the knocking sound..
You can check this by turning your wheels all the way to full lock while parked and have someone watch the springs. If its winding up then they havent been put in correctly.
This is what happened to mine when I put them in. Hope the pics help.
If you were bottoming out it would be more than a knock and it would most likely put you into a gutter or pole..

Cause would be due to your reduced ride height now. The only way to prevent bottoming out is to either stop driving into potholes, or to increase the spring rate (and may require new dampers accordingly to suit new springs). Don't forget though that you have to retain a certain level of softness in the springs for them to work properly; otherwise your car will just skate along the road because the springs won't deflect except for the hardest hits.
Did you get your bump stops checked to see that they are functioning correctly? If they are perished when the suspension bottoms out it will feel a lot harsher.

He got a whole kit done mate.. And unless hes going over some huge potholes its all but impossible to bottom out on the Pedders sports riders (they are higher than the Kings SuperLows.)

Yes before I had my current equipment fitted, I was running Pedders sportsryder springs + Comfort shocks; my suspension would bottom out very often; it seems as though their spring rates are not high enough... also make sure they fitted the V6 part numbers and not the S4 ones.

They are higher but they are not stiffer
