oh god you would not beleive i just had my drivers windows cable snap
now here comes the kicker
you have to buy the whole assembly for around $300 from a wrecker as they dont have any new
or thats what ive been told
i have a TJ Advance
now my cable is broke but the motor its self is still fine
so im also just after the cable

i mean it dont look llike anything fancy looks like the wire on my clothes line O_o

At first read, I thought OP was referring to to wiring loom - but I am now realising these guys are talking about a multi-strand wire cable that is used to raise and lower the window frame.

As second post states, its not unlike clothesline cable, tho I am sure its a much more supple/bendy type of cable.

Wreckers would have to be the go, tho price stated ($300-) seems quite a lot for wreck price, but being for a power window mechanism and including electric motor it may be so. can you see from a self-serve wrecker, or your "cactus" one, whether teh cable drum and lift mechanism can be seperated easily from the motor? If it could be split off, it may be cheaper.

I'll have a look at the Mitsi Workshop Manual, and post an EDIT here if it looks promising....

Reconditioned Units in Qld are 165.00 from a wrecker. Used parts are a bit rare due to it being a common problem.

I just went through this for my uncle.

If ( and thats a big IF) you get a choice, get one out of a TL/TW, apparently they are more reliable...

We got a unit out of a 2002 TJ for a $100

I'm sorry, but are you guys talking about the wiring loom for the drivers side door?

If so I have one from a TJ magna you can have.

Yeah guys were not talking about the wiring loom its the electric window assembly which is basically operated by a electric motor which pulls a cable
I just bought one for $90 out of a 99 Verada, Mitsubishi wanted $480 WTF
From what i found out there's 2 different types and the TJ part is the 1 the stuffs up, the earlier unit looks a better design.
Put it in and works great.
