Hey guys, this time i did search the forums and i couldn't find the answer.
and i know its easter, but i thought i'd post this just incase someone was crawling the site like me.
I installed my sub and amp and all the **** behind the headunit right, then from that time onwards i havn't had aerial movement (not raising up and down) i connected this big black hard plastic connection (female) with a long black hard plastic connection (male) thinking that would work, but no. i have a Pioneer deh-p8450mp, here is the link for it http://www.pioneer-latin.com/downloads/crd3573a.pdf, but i just cant fix this aerial. can someone give me some help here? its really pissing me off cause im bored of all my crap cd's haha!
cheers,

i didn't disconnect it, the headunit was already inthe car when i had it, and i didn't disconnect any wires.
but the aerial wire is usually blue?

Yeah blue. You said you added and amp so what wire did you run to trigger the amp on its usally blue or sometimes orange.these two wires are switching wires that only have power once head unit is on used to trigger the aerial and to trigger the amp.You also say you connected the black plastic connectors they are the aerial plugs if it was already installed why were these disconnected.

ahh okay.
ill pull the dreaded dash apart again (suicidal face) and have a look at it. if i am using the aerial wire, what would i have to do to reverse what has happened? cheers,

You can just split that blue wire into 2 and connect one to the aerial wire that it was connected to originally and the other to the amp but just check some head units have 2 wires already 1 for the amp and one for the aerial just see if there is a spare blue or maybe an orange. But problably just as easy to split the blue you already have in to 2.Hope that sounds understandable.

i checked it all, and there is a blue wire but that seems to go into the 'loom' (the taped area that we didn't undo to put in the amp and stuff) but there is an orange and white stripped wire that is cut, but i dont know what wire i'd have to connect it it :(

That blue wire should be right then maybe its just loose if you didn't disconnect it other than that what wire did you use for the amp. Really hard to say when you can't see and check the connection in person maybe another local member with a bit more audio/electrical experience might be able to help you out.

Yeah Just check it with the test light to make sure there is power there.

i found that blue wire, and it has been jacked and used as my control wire. i couldn't find a wire that was coming towards the headunit that was spare, only one coming out of the headunit but they were marked as 'mute' and 'ill'.
i might try calling apon the guy accross the road or an AMC guy that knows his way around wires lol
cheers again,

hey man that control wire is the one your looking for. you just gotta split one off it and somewhere in your original loom coming from the car will be the power for the antenna (cant rememba what colour tho), just connect it to that and the moment your deck comes on when you turn the key, it will sent power to your amp as well as the antenna.
