Just a new thought.
my experience with cars in general is replacement rubber is crap to ok
Plenty of good seals at the wreckers cheap. They fit and work! with second gens.
Also my friend had a similar prob with a vs commodore wagon and it was the side windows leaking..
Had resealed by O'Brien glass for about $75 and never happened again.
If you have time i suggest you pull the trim and find the leak before going the hack with new seals.
going the hack??
never intended to mate, i have new boot seals ready to go on and i was talking about using sealant around the outsidesof them not cutting into them to fill them with sealant, and as for the tailights its nice and easy remove taillight, put thin layer of sealant over rubber seal, reinstall taillight, no hacking at it required,
or by going the hack you mean purchasing new seals ( that ive already done lol )?
as for the local wreckers around here, he is a overpriced moron with mostly year 2000+ cars and he crushs anything under that as it comes in basicly and thats as close to nice as i have to say about them at the moment:D

Yer fair call with the wreckers.
Going the hack i was referring to buying some of the generic rubbers as they don't seem to fit right for most cars and need cutting trimming etc..
Where did you get your seals and are they a good fit?
How Much?
Good luck.
got all 4 doors and the boot rubber for 50.00 all up from clark rubber in ballina, nsw ( next town over from me)
i got a pic around here somewhere from when i first bought the car, and it shows how bad the door seals are lol ill try to find and put up
