Ok, got the car all together today but I have a P0638 CEL code coming up (Throttle Actuator Control Range/Performance). It runs ok but looks like it needs the throttle body recalibrated/reset.

Anyone know how?????

EDIT - Just thought I'd add the car starts & runs perfectly & I drove it down the road & back (not in boost obviously since it isn't tuned) so I assume it is just a reset thing. Might have to take it to Mitsubishi if no one knows. My tuner said he can't really tune it properly until the code is cleared & once that is done it's a one week wait to book it in.

Another excuse....:belt:
It works, what more do you want! :boohoo:
haven't you got this thing on the road yet?
:P :P

I'm pretty sure on Commodores it involved pushing the throttle to the floor a number of times when ignition switch was at a certain position. Mitsu dealer/service will know; give them a ring.

I went to Mitsubishi this arvo & they said they would have to do it through their MUT4 setup. Booked it in for Monday so if they fix it I will have it at CNJ for a tune the following Monday.

What's a MUT4?

Knotched, MUT stands for Multi Use Tester, and 4 is the number in the generational sequence. MUT 1 was first introduced to assist reading the early TCU and fuel injection systems.

With MUT I it was possible to play with the height adjustable suspension under the KR Xi Verada

I have read the 380 work shop manual today to see if I could find anything of value to assist Foozrcool however the manual basically suggests connecting MUT III for all trouble shooting in that area with no multi meter or other workarounds.

Wish Mitsubishi could actually find out whats wrong with our car by using the MUT4....they've had it for nearly 2 weeks and still dont know why she wont start.....

Was totally unaware of your problem.

Dunno if this helps but I couldn't start mine the other day when puting the electricals back together after rewiring the fuel pump. Everything seemed to work but turn the ignition key & nothing. Turned out to be the connector with the hinge lock setup right next to the fusebox under the bonnet facing towards the motor. Mine was sitting in there but wasn't hinge locked in.

Thanks for checking that out for me, they actually said MUT3 or 4. Well hopefully I'll get it back Monday all good & get her booked for the tune.

Update - I cleaned out the throttle body this arvo & reset the CEL code with my scantool & all's good. Been putting around in it all arvo with no CEL. Will have to cancel Mitsubishi in the morn & book her in for the tune.

What do you mean by cleaned out the throttle body?

Does it get a lot of build up in there or was there something foreign in there restricting flow?

When I had it bored out they put a bigger brass butterfly in. Since it was sitting for two months there was a bit of electrolysis between the aluminium & the brass & the butterfly actually welded itself shut. I freed it up before I put it together but I thought I'd clean that up a bit. Anyway did that, drove it down the road fine, plugged in my code scanner & cleared the CEL then it was fine after that. I'm assuming maybe the butterfly was being held open a flysh*t which made the throttle position sensors think there was a mismatch between the peddle & the throttle body.

Good outcome. Is it worth spraying something (RP7) around the butterfly to make sure it doesn't happen again (like if you go OS and leave it sitting)?

Yep could be the go, I think it was only a prob coz it was sitting for so long. I'm sure the stock butterfly is aluminium?? .... so would'nt have the same problem.
