ok, finished the efi conversion but having trouble getting the car started now.

the dizzy has been moved out of whack and i dont have much of an idea on how to change this.
iv looked in my hanes and this is what i came up with:

if the crankshaft has been moved while the distributor is out, the number one piston must be repositioned at TDC. this can be done by feeling for compression pressure at the number one plug hole as the crankshaft is turned. once compression is felt, align the TDC marks on the drivebelt pulley and the timing cover.

i would like to get the car running tonight. only problem is i don't understand how to do what the previous paragraph is telling me to. and nobody who knows what they are doing is able to help me out.

if any1 can take the time to explain the process in more detail and in noob language that would be greatly appreciated.

spark plug out of number one cylinder,(disconnect coil),stick finger in said hole, get someone to flick engine over till you start to feel compression trying to blow your finger out, stop cranking, line the timing mark/notch on the harmonic balancer (pulley) up with the big centre notch on the timing case by using a socket and breaker bar on the crank/harmonic balancer bolt, then point the rotor button in the dizzy to number one plug lead area on the cap, then drop back in engine, tighten up,plug back in ,coil hooked back up,done!

someone correct me if i have missed anything

ok tried all of the above. no go the engine is not firing. iv checked the fuel rail and fuel is getting there. there is spark at the spark plugs too.
we tried starting the engine before we had swapped the fuel pumps over. it started then but would die within 15 seconds. how ever the dizzy had been moved since then.
since changing the fuel pumps the car hasnt started.

is there anything else i should check before assuming its the dizzy?

too far retarded. i managed to get hold of one of my mates who was a mechanic. he came round fairly late last night and got it running first go.

havnt actually taken it for a spin yet as i have the donor car parked right behind it. but ill move that car out the way today and take her for a spin this afternoon. im soo excited lol

Well it was just too far retarded had to muck around with it for ages for some reason I couldn't seem to get it but the mechanic was just doing the same as me an he was able to get it.

How'd you go with it?
