Hey y'all dudes and dudettes!

Ill be getting a ye ol gas tank at the end of this month so boot space will be crazy compromised! Was contemplating instead of getting a sub either a) customizing 8"/10" subs in the read doors or replacing the 6x9's with some form of sub like speaker.
I know theres some nut audiophiles out there so in all honesty am i just blowing empty steam and wasting time/money by doing that? From what ive heard the only way to get ball vibrating bass is ...a sub...! so maybe my best bet is going back to my old setup of soundstream(love their junk) t4/t5/splx 900wrms sub and 1000wrms amp?

btw this is also coupled with deadening of the doors regardless!

aaah damnit! i think i just blew my amp! I thought thats what the fuses were for! to PROTECT the amp from idiots like me! checked all the wiring/grounding. Used a tester at the amps polairties and there was current. Checked the remote wire and that seemed fine. Got new fuses and changed it over...and NOTHING. :belt: now as annoyed coz a) ive got to get a new amp and b) the rms rating was perfect for the speakers i had eg. 4x100rms. Maybe its time for a full over haul then. Btw any ideas to how i could have possibly blown it up?

Looked at the earth? Seems to be the time of month for stuffing amps, your 1 of a few people I know now who've had stereo problems this month, me included! lol

I've had a Focal 165KBE Bass Ext Kit in the rear of my car and it works depending on what you listen to. For R&B and Rap they were quite useful, I didn't find them great for any of the dance, rock etc sort of stuff. DD also do a kit called DDW6.5, could be worth trying, they handle a bit more power than the Focals.

To be honest you'd want to put them into the front or rear doors, I wouldn't run them free air on the parcel shelf again personally, they need a box of sorts to perform their best. A fully deadened door would be the ideal place for them.

Their are ways to get some decent mid bass down to 50Hz without a sub. Only problem is that it usually cost more than just playing round with a sub.
