Hi all
Just to say thanks for all your help so far with my wagon.....Great stuff
my speed o cable broke at about 208k and as soon as i went to buy a new one every one said sorry cant get one!
Need one made up etc....
The wreckers are full of autos but not manuals like mine and usually there a different part.
I took the chance and got a cable from an auto for $10 bucks "pick a part", and it fits and works fine for over 5,000k now. No mods at all needed.
Thought this info might help out someone soon or in the future as are cars are getting a bit used now..lol

Autos and manuals are the same. I didnt change my speedo cable with my conversion mate. they're a dime a dozen because they dont always break.

Im sure most newer members wouldn't realize the cable is the same so hence the post.

Sweet
Just a note the car didn't run as good with the cable broken.
I assume it was due to the ecu not getting or taking speed readings from the dash module.
Didn't run bad but was noticeable. if anything a bit lagged. i know this shouldn't effect the car but it did, Mitsubishi love to Tye all these things together for some reason.
cheers!

...speedo cable? Are you sure? because it's a mechanical device, not electronic in any way really. mine broke bang in the centre and my car felt exactly the same...

The speedo is mech, your right.
The ecu has a pickup off the dash cluster which relies on the cable working.
im pretty sure but if wrong let me know.
