Hi, haven't been here in a while
Basically we bought a TJ Magna Sports towards the end of last year. It's sitting on 19" Wheels, and I'm guessing it's been extensively lowered (It's veeery low)
As such, the ride is terrible (even with correct Air Pressure ratings). We are also worried about the cost of 19" Tyres as that time appears to be approaching.
If we were to try and source a set (only 4 is needed, we have the original spare) of 16" OEM Magna Sports Wheels, how much would they likely cost?
Also, is it likely to improve ride comfort considering theres an extra 3" of air between the ground and the occupants?
these come and go on here and on ebay quite often. Look to spend upwards of $300 for a set with good tyres.

LOL, we wil have to see :)
By Series 1 I guess you mean TJ I as opposed to TJ II?
It's hard to find info about the differences between them, but I'm pretty sure I have the TJ II as I have 2 airbags as opposed to 1 just for the driver, which is apparently what the TJ came with where as the TJ II has one for both the Driver and the Passenger
I'll have to have a look at the spare wheel sometime, I haven't looked at it since we bought the car :D
I have a TJ1 with 2 airbags. TJ2 came with tiptronic 4sp as standard, and that was about it.

TJ Sports wheels didn't change, they're all the 6 spoke fat/fatter design.

I've got 4 TJII 16 Inch Sports Rims (same as s1) sitting in my Garage (Sydney) that I will be putting up for sale soon; don't know about the quality of the rubber on them but send me a PM if your interested; couple of gutter marks thats about it.
Came off my March 03 build TJ2 Sports (now has GTVI 17 inch rims)

Just changing wheels won't fix your rubbish ride. It'll have more to do with the stupidly low suspension and stiff dampers making it ride horribly.

Disciple is right about the bad effects of springs and dampers that are too stiff, but you will still need to get back to sane tyre section height to regain a decent ride. Personally, I would stick with 16" rims, preferably 7" wide, with 225/55R16 tyres. We have so many crap road surfaces in Australia that ultra-low profile tyres are more trouble than they're worth.

In other words, find a set of standard 16" Rims and you're set
Hmm gorgeous looks or acceptable ride, so difficult :(

ill take a goregous car over the ride feeling... so as already stated i would be up to trade my "rims" (they are 16"alloys from a commonwealth games edition...) fairly new tyres... (but still lots of tread) and as stated, cash your way... LOL

This is what is wrong with the 'modded' car scene.

ROFL guys, calm down, still deciding what to do
At this point we are gong to look if the springs have been chopped rather then the car being lowered properly
It would make sense as a lot of the mods on the car seem to have been done on the cheap ;)

It might be worth looking into some proper lowered springs, You might be able to get some in between the standard ride height and the current height which will improve the ride but still give you a lot of the benefits of a lowered car.
As for your rims, I doubt you'll have any trouble finding somebody around here who'll give you a good deal for some TJ sports or vrx rims.
