View Full Version : Anyone tried staggered offsets?

There's a lot more space in the rear guards than the front. I'm looking at Tenzo Type-Ms (still) and was toying with the idea of 18x8 +37 front 18x8 +25 rear. I know that's quite a big difference. Has anyone ever tried it?

in theory wouldnt it throw your suspension geometry out the window? not that lowering doesnt already
probably also wouldnt fit in the guards?

From experience, that size width, and offset will make the rim/tyre sit way to far out on the back.
8inch wide, and 35offset looks very tough on the rear end.

They fill the rear guards nicely

Yeah thought it was a bit far fetched. The Type-Ms are available in +25, 37, 45, so +37 it is. Cheers guys

I did it in mine a few weeks ago
I put BA GT wheels 18 X 8 on the Magna just to move it around
FPV wheels are staggered fitment to fill out the rear guards
Front was the 36 off set and the rear is a 32 off set (I am sure these off sets are correct) and it fitted with no issues at all
The front track is a lot wider on the front than the rear track and it evened it out a bit
Sorry I do not have a photo of the wagon with the 18" on it

I agree. It is obvious if you look. Even more so when lowered. The front guards are more filled than the rear. This is exactly what I have been looking for in wheels for some time now. I want a set that the rear wheels have more dish than the front ones so that the guards are filled evenly. This may require the rear guard lips to be bent in (in case of extra weight in the rear), but I think the end result wil be worth it...

Yeah if it was a more subtle difference it would likely work but +37 to +25 is a pretty big jump. If I'm not happy with how they sit at the back I'll look at getting some hub-centric spacers (not technically legal but extends the hub centring lip, so the load isn't transferred to the studs)

Hope it goes well. Post some pics when you are done. I would be very interested in seeing the end results.
