Hey guys,

Can anyone here on aussiemagna make custom front bumpers for a ts and if so would they be willing to sell one?
Or anyone knows of anyone who can?

I am looking at the local mod shops here atm and seeing what they can do.

Cheers.

i would go a Diamante Series 1 like Pauls, or Series 2 if you can locate it like Cass.

The Custom Bar, above looks horrible, Although AdamJ's bar looks hot!!! So Really, At the end of the day, it comes down to how much you want to spend!!
But value for money, is the diamante bar with the lip!!

adamj's bar is the best out there that i've seen, but its custom and im sure he wouldnt want anyone else with the same :P
depends how much you wanna spend as said, if i had the money i'd have a custom made up very similar to adams

diamante series 1 bars are best bang for buck really, but you have to look around, no chance getting one in perth, consider yourself lucky to be over there

lol you could always do what curtois did with his TR and make a flip lip? (cut the bottom off another and attach to yours upsidedown) works for R31 skylines.... not for magnas lol

cheers guys,

I am going to continue to look around abit more in my local area, a mate of mine got his lancer gli custom barred. I might see the autmotives who completed his.
I am willing to spend around 1500 for a front bar, as this is a project car for now and once completed will be my main.

do you realise that for $1500 you'll get a decent 3L DOHC with some extra money to spare?

engines arent everything, i'd rather pimp my car visually than get slightly more power, an awesome looking car pulls chicks, speed rarely does, in fact, most chicks hate it when you drive fast

for 1.5k you could get something awesomely original, and then mould it and sell copies to earn money back *wink wink*

I dont need too, as for when i brought it at the time, the previous owner just got a brand new 3l dohc for around 1100.

Its time to do the exterior now.

We all are different! fact.

if you want s bar go for it.

Some come up great and some not so....

At the end of the day it comes down to cash....

if you want a bar looking different then fine but SPREAD THE CASH AROUND.. To the rest of the car that is.

Some rice is good if well done, but a clean tidy car will win every time.

eg. A shi# . Box with wings wont fly.

Something to consider.

all the best.

thats fair enough but $1500 for a front bar??? i mean for that money that better be one crazy bar.

for that money you can pick your self up some awesome 18's or even 19's and springs. that itself will transform the look of a 2ndgen.

for $1500 you could get another car :doubt: but what am i talking about, i'm clearly stupid for wanting to increase the performance from either 125kW or 98kW to 160kW

EDIT; Anyway, each to his own. all those bars look crap unfort. fully sick bodykits on 2nd gen magnas look horrific. going on with the engine-side of things, one could get on with a turbo build. there's so many ways to spend that much money apart from a piece of fibreglass rice hanging off the front of your car.

Don't think I've ever seen a girl point at a 2nd Gen magna with an ugly ass bodykit and go "OMG!!! Come back here! I want to give you my number!"

+1 to Yann's suggestion for the DOHC. Girls hate guys that are all talk and no action. :)

eh, i personally love the 1st and 5th (the one after cummins old one) ones, enough to attract attention and flow with the lines still decently
nothing IMO looks better on a 2nd gen that a big **** off front bar looking like a fat lip, 2nd gens are dull looking cars, and IMO a bit of rice is whats needed on them, they simply aren't the best cars for trying to make stand out in a classy way in todays market. then again, im just a P plater, i love attention and turning heads.

edit: and nemesis, depends what you class as ugly, a lot of girls love crap like fast and furious, not because of engines, because of body kits and sporty looking cars, any car can go fast.

But you gotta turn them for the right reasons!

When I said 1500, that was abit of a stretch, more like 700 non painted.
As for diamante fronts etc and lips, alot of ppl may like them. But if you like a car so much you will be wiling that extra bit of cash into it, to look the way you want it too.
I know 2nd gen magnas arent the easiest to custom, but I think if done properly it could turn out nicely. The front bar i am looking at, at the moment is a skyline r32 gts bar customed.

Thanks guys for the suggestions, tho I think it comes down to personal choice and the finance situation and to cuzman, I agree. I am going to spread the cash around the car (however the front bumper is the focus at this point in time), as it is a project car at this point, so I am in no hurry to finish it.

Appreciate you jizzing your pants over my car but come on not riced:P man I love my riced up ****box!

The main thing you wanna do with a 2nd gen front bar is KEEP the front bumper protrustion
The 1st picture of the green magna fer0x has posted is missing this, see how wrong it looks? So flat......Needs that protrusion for definition...

what do you mean the owner got a DOHC for $1100? Is it in the car? or does the owner still have it?
Mind you i lol @ the guy with the carby 4cyl saying he prefers looks over performance :P of course you do carby boy :P

on the topic of this thread, is there a certain car/s which are very similar to the 2gens?
like that would require minimal modification to fit?

AdamJ2006
23-04-2009, 09:21 PM
Kim, myself and others have used the (unfortunate, because i actually hate this place)...the Carmate fibreglassing place, the 1988 ES Corolla has a very similar curve pattern and requires minimal moulding, and only about 2" worth of filling... anyone know any other close ones?
cost was about $300 pick up if i remember...

Does anybody know how much it would cost to reproduce a bodykit if you already have the bodykit?

Kennyghost
25-04-2009, 06:59 PM
ferox u kno what i think? i think lets get a stock spare bumper and then go shopping for a bumper that you like the look of and get cutting and fiberglassing! i dont mind helping it could be awesome plus really unique. as long as you dont rush it and just do piece by piece as you can.

Does anybody know how much it would cost to reproduce a bodykit if you already have the bodykit?A semi-educated guess would be at least a couple of hundred for each mould if you are getting someone to make it, then say a hundred for each piece produced.
If you had the spare time and persistence, you could learn how to do it yourself for a fraction of the cost, purely materials and time. I'd guess maybe $50 worth of materials per mould to make a decent quality gel-coat mould. There's any number of other ways of making moulds that could do the job, especially as one-off's. With the right design and preparation, and a whole heap of planning, I reckon you could make a multi-piece mould from dental plaster, which costs maybe $40 for a 20kg bag and gives really good surface reproduction. Just have to be careful with the mould, as it can be quite easy to chip if the mix ratio isn't quite right.

As with most car mod things, it's a curve of time vs money. You can get it quick and easy if you have the money, or if you spend a whole heap of time you can do it quite cheaply, with equal results.
