I disagree with that statement of his. The only real justification he gives for it is that people have differing ideas on comfort and ride height, and that each car is different and is used in varying conditions. Seems pretty common sense to me - you've got to take everything you read with a grain of salt.

Plus, the standard of advice here is pretty good. It's not like we're stereotypical Commodore owners who aim to have the car as incredibly low as possible.

Who else should you ask for advice anyway? Most suspension shops would have lowered a handful of Magnas at most, and they'd only have the opportunity to drive it around the block. I'd rather seek advice from people who have had plenty of experience both before and after lowering.


Pretty cool article though, I never knew how the springs were changed until I saw the photos.

does anyone know who makes spring compressors like that/where to get them. Much better than the basic couple of hooks on a threade rod ones that i have

It looks better with the chopped springs....

I have spring compressors but usually we just use an angle grinder to cut the springs in half to get them out (not reccomended) and not much tention is needed if putting in 2" lower springs. And ive never helped someone put stock springs back in.....

But that would be awsome for doing stock springs.
