As the Title states, I'd like to make a bridge connector so I can temporarily / permenantly remove my unichip type A to assist fault finding.

Does anyone know what plug type I need to buy from Jaycar. I assume it's an industry standard connection.

Is this a 20/24 pin Molex Connector? Like what you would see in a PC?

Hi

Just got one for my ts wagon. not in yet.

It has an 18 pin output. Yes like a pc. Main Plug

6 pin for ???? Probably for the tuner to plug into.?

Not sure why 18 as i got a diagram from a rex owner and my one is also from a rex but they are type A Which is suited to wrx;s and some magna's and use only 9 pins with one for a boost control. as i dont have boost that means i should only have to use 8 pins.

The different type of uni chips are for different dizzy set ups.

Should be easy enough.

As i want the same thing i might have a think about it and get back to you with a diagram time depending.

Can you confirm wire colors for yours.

Ok had a look at the plugs and yes they are pc for sure!

the pc ones are sweet but i only could find a male..bugger.

If the plug has more pins thats fine as they just hang over out of the way and still join fine.

Please double check all connections and i take no responsibility for any of this as its based on a diagram thats not mine and as mine is not fitted to the car i cant confirm if its accurate.

Refer to diagram below for bridge hookup. This will put the car back to stock. plug and play. without the bridge the car wont run.

The clips should be attainable most electronics shops but you could look for a dead pc mother board and rape it from the board, Dont know if the pins would come out from the board?

Let me know how you go with finding the clip as i'll need one for myself. If you could also confirm the location of the bridges that would be great too. Be easy enough once you get to the unit.

i know you were only after the clip type but what the heck...let the world know as uni chip are a bunch of secretive people.

Thanks for the info. I will be careful and take info with grain of salt. Don't worry about over supplying info. Sharing information is what makes this forum great. I'll have a look this weekend if I get a chance. I've got the car booked in for some dyno time next week to identify the issues I'm having.

If you are trying to fault find a problem with rough idle and near stalling at idle, see my thread "Unichip - a warning".

Sorry, I can't help with the bypass connector.
