Whats the other side of the pressure plate look like?(hot spotting etc). Is it standard clamping pressure or upgraded?

Cheers Dave.

Hay dave this is what he said when i asked him about the clamping pressue

Yeah i can but not till next week prob Monday as im moving house this week end and everything is packed up.

I think its just a heavy duty so like 20% heavier. Clutch was pretty heavy in the car i know that much.

i didn’t buy it so im not to sure. The last owner had the gearbox rebuilt 6000kms before i bought the car and on the recept it just says Heavy Duty organic clutch

I have an Xtreme HD organic clutch in my Rada and it doesn't really feel any differenter to a standard Magna clutch

Kurt a standard evo is heavy duty for a Magna, so a heavy duty evo pressure plate might be a bit much for a standard Magna flywheel. It might pull the pressure plate on to the gearbox housing, just something to be a where of. I had this problem with a heavy duty Ralliart evo pressure plate not sure of it's rating but it's heavy!

Cheers Dave.

i thought instead of starting a new thread... my clutch is on the go, and i heard someone say that the evo clutch could be to strong? for the stock flywheel... i noticed this on a troll of eBay and thought i know the clutch would fit...

would the new fly fit too? is it worth the effort?

i have no idea why ppl are saying any clutch is to heavy for a flywheel.. that makes no sense

yes a heavy duty magna clutch is light compared to a standard evo clutch.. hence why when u put a heavy duty magna clutch in ur car u wont notice a difference in pedal feel... but, a standard evo clutch will give u a heavier pedal

Gremlin,
Do you know if the Evo flywheel is the same spec as the Magna one. Only reason I ask is that this kit above comes with the flywheel which may not be any good if not the same land and diameter.

gday mal..
an evo flywheel will not fit on a magna... different number of bolts... it simply wont bolt on... evo is 7 bolt magna is 6 bolt (from memory)

Gremlin, The Magna's have a 2 piece flywheel standard. It flexes under pressure plate load. I use a heavy duty Ralliart evo pressure plate and when the clutch was applied the pressure plate rubbed on the gearbox housing. I removed the gearbox and diegrinded the areas that were touching. Hope this makes sense.

Cheers Dave.

i no the rubbing your talking about as i had to do the same thing with my gearbox when i fitted the evo clutch to my TH.... mine was rubbing on the gearbox at all times, not just when the clutch pedal was pushed in.. we had a look at a standard evo clutch and a standard magna clutch and found the evo pressure plate to be slightly taller than a magna pressure plate... wasnt much in it but enough to bring the pressure plate close enough to the gearbox to have a slight rub..

interesting about the flywheel flex.. so yours was only rubbing when your were on the clutch pedal (clutch disengaged)?

Yeah thats right Gremlin, the pressure plate didn't touch the gearbox housing until the clutch pedal was fully depressed.
