View Full Version : TR MAGNA Auto 92 CV replacement
Hi new to the club. Can anyone give me some advice on replacing the CVs on a TR Mangna 92 auto. Is it do-able for a shed job or is it a mechanics. Would i need a manual to do it. Any advice appreciated.

Not that hard to do
You can lock off the hubs with a screw driver in the rotor vents, this will save you needing to use a second person on the brake pedal
The large nut is very tight, 36mm from memory (have a socket but ages since I have taken notice of it lol)

doable, first time will take you a couple of days, to work everything out..
better have a manual ready in any case

Whats the average labour charge for replacing both sides? about $200? I just bought a pair to replace on my car.

I had one replaced a while ago when I had my 2nd gen for 170ish including supply so labour shouldnt be too much i imagine.

If you need any other front end work done, do it all at the same time as the meck will have most of it unbolted up on the hoist anyway.
don't forget to get a wheel alignment afterward s.

i just ordered my cvs off ebay and was wondering the same thing... can anyone tell me the page number of the step by step instructions in the service manual?
p.s. i got told by my friendly mechanic (who i never use.. lol) that the cvs are 125 each from repco and he was gunna charge me 300 to 350 (parts + labour) to change them depending on how stuck in there they were..
i ordered mine for 40 each :)
