Mine does with the addition of this by the looks of it http://reviews.cnet.com/car-audio/alpine-tua-t550hd-hd/4505-3425_7-32856715.html
Guys - digital radio - it's like digital TV. Only a decade late. Vastly improved audio quality obviously. Google it

Doesn't look like it no. No listed accessories for it. The HD Radio tuner for mine would work out to $340 landed, **** that!

While i would like it just for the news- i don't even have my antenna connected to the headunit. Never listen to music from the radio.

Apparently Nova (my pick station... ahem) is going to start broadcasting digitally in May. Huzzah!
Thing is though, the headunit I have now is pretty flash. Digital radio alone isn't enough to convince me to upgrade - especially since I spend most of my time listening to mix CDs. If I upgrade from it, I want a decent (but cheap) iPod add-on, and I definitely want bluetooth built in. A double-DIN colour screen would be nice too. I suspect the initial wave of digital-capable headunits won't be cheap, so it could be fair while before I upgrade.

Well... my head unit doesn't support it, so I may be looking to upgrade at some point. Will have to see what Pioneer's offerings are though because i'll be damned if i'm rewiring it all again...

ppl still listen to the radio?
they will now
digital radio will mean easier access to broadcast along with allowing multiple channels from a single station.
Once that happens there will be a potential for hundreds of stations with little to no dj's/commentors/talk back/crap/whatever like we currently have
im excitded, there might finally be a dedicated r&b / hip hop station

in approx 4 weeks pioneer will be releasing there digital tuner a p-bus system for approx $220,
but know the way car audio is at the moment may end up being 3 times that lol

I doubt there will be no dj, how else you think radio stations are run legally? they use the dj to drive down the running costs

A lot of internet 'radio' programs dont have DJ....
www.hardcoreradio.nl
Just a tracklist thats put on, and played - with a few ads added in....
Not hard.

im pretty sure that a the cost of paying a DJ's wages on a commercial radio station for 4 hours severely outweighs the cost of an automated playlist containing songs and ads playing through uninterrupted for 4 hours...but thats just my opinion, and i know on a lot of radio stations the DJ's/commentators are unpaid, but it would still cost more to have them pushing buttons and additional equipment costs for them to do so as opposed to one automated machine.
Furthuremore, a lot of people actually do listen to radio (well they have it turned on anyway :P). In fact the majority of people do when stuck in their car on the way home. Shows like Hamish and Andy are really popular these days and i myself enjoy tuning in every now and then rather then a CD or USB device plugged into the stereo. Having said this, it would be nice if they made some stations that were ad and DJ free that just played certain genres of music. Ie. punk rock, house, country, r'n'b, mainstream, top40, 90's....etc
