I'm thinking of fitting some neons in the interior of my TJ under the dash and under the seats. They will be red in color and i would like to know best way to fit them.
I have a empty spot in the passenger airbag compartment that i can fit a switch box in if need so and just have the airbag lid/cover so that it closes up and hides the switch.
What would be the best method for doing this? Any suggestions?

dont see the need to put one under the dash ansd under the seat under the seat gives you enough light coverage and for the switches you can mount them under your dash near your boot release if you need any more info their are alot of threads in regards to neons

hi, even tho its for a second gen and the pictures dont work (presume since the upgrade) you could try this thread. will give you the basic idea. http://www.aussiemagna.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6534
theres probably a better one. im sure someone else will help with that.
why may i ask is the passenger airbag compartment empty?
Also, you could try pm ing Kennyghost, has quite extensive experience with neons;), both in an out of car, first on a TR then a TJ
Done a quick search, one of your TAS reps lists blue interior neons in his mods section and drives a 3rd gen maybe you could enlist his help? alcohol currency. Parto i think it was.

I agree there is no need to put the switch behind the airbag compartment.
its easy enough to mount them to the panels in the footwells

Reason for switches going in airbag compartment is that the airbag compartment is actually empty. Theres no passenger airbag so i have a nice big gap to put something in.

I used to have neons under the drivers & passengers side, just used some double sided adhesive tape or some neons have screws included and can be screwed into the plastic or where ever. I think someone stepped on one of the wires (It was when I very first got my car so I did it dodgy..)
I have some new ones on order from EBay so I'll post up a pic of mine (if i remember) when they're installed

mate double sided tape is your friend!...but go million colour leds, and make sure they can flash to the music too! if your gonna do it may as well go the whole way and that way if you get bored of red you dont have to buy new neons! ALSO hide the tubes..whateva they maybe COMPLEATELY from sight. even when your peering thought the rear window the tubes should be hidden. It may take some time but take up the carpet and hide the wires..looks so much neater. Dont need a guide or anything..just find the right screws/plugs and pull! lol Ive simply taped my switch box/adjuster to the left of my footwell for easy access. Thought about popping it in the glove box but way to much effort to each over. I want to be in control. Not my damn passengers! lol

Don't give a switchbox which has a wolf whistle connected to it to the passengers :P never heard so many wolf whistles in my life! :eeek:
