Hi guys (gals),
I need to obtain a Timing Belt Front Lower Cover for my TS 3.0 V6, it is the one that goes down around the crankshaft and extends up to where the camshafts are. It has two other upper covers, left & right, I do not require these. Sorry for the long explanation. Just wanted to make sure it is understood which cover I need.
I rang the local Mitsubishi dealer and he told me it was an obsolete part and was no longer available. I also rang a couple of wreckers with no luck.
Does anyone know if this cover is available anywhere, either new or seond hand.
HELP!! I need one ASAP!!
Cheers

Hi. I'm in Sydney. I have tried a few wreckers. They either don't have any or want to keep it on the engine to sell together.
Thanks for the reply.
P.S. I didn't know if the Mitsubishi parts guy knew what he was talking about and had given me the correct info, saying "this part is now obsolete".

They probably don't have any left in the spare parts stock..... They wanted like $1000 for a dizzy when I asked lol.
Maybe try just going to the wreckers and pulling one off.
Blacktown Pick N Payless (Tattersal Road) have a few KS Veradas at the moment

Peter, thanks again for the info about the Blacktown wrecker. I went there today and got the cover off. It wasn't easy as the engine was still in the car. I had to remove the engine mount, power steering pump, crankshaft pulley. No mean feat when you are working in a yard with no access to all the tools that you usually have on hand in the garage at home. It took about 1 1/2 hours in total, cost $15 for all three covers and a bit of bark off the body in a few places accompanied by a certain amount of claret.
Thanks again.
Cheers
Don
P.S. I used this brilliant tool to crack the crankshaft pulley bolt with and to undo it to remove the crankshaft pulley. See pictures below. You place a socket (22mm) on the end of the short piece, place the socket on the pulley bolt with the short piece of the tool at right angles to the longer piece. Then whack the living bejeezus out of the top of the long piece of the tool. The bolt cracks within 3 or 4 hits with a lump hammer.
