hey guys, just wondering if any of you guys have removed the water-pump belt cover... lol... i dont know why, moving things just fascinate me i wanna reach out and touch them..... *ouch*.... maybe i'll leave it on

p.s. also how tight should the belt be and can anyone recomend the best procedure for tightening the belt? my crowbar idea didnt seem to work :(

Touch it all you like - just don't have the motor running.

7 mm freeplay on belt, crowbar to lever the belt tighter is the correct method. Just make sure the bolts are backed off a bit.
Freeplay isn't that critical.

lol... i think i might take it off just for weight reduction purposes.. either that or chrome it so its more.... aerodynamic

yea i just changed the pump because it was shot to sh*t.. i managed to get about 20-30mm of free play, i guess i just have to stop being such a limp-wristed girl or get a bigger crowbar...
