What do you mean by the boot switch? Do you mean the switch to open the boot or the
switch indicating that the boot is opened?

The switch for opening the boot should be below the coin holder and above the bonnet release.
I think the boot pin switch for the alarm is either in the lock housing in the boot lid or in the
striking bolt housing on the boot seal.

The 2nd gens don't have the valet parking so no boot release in the glove box.

i'm referring to the switch in the boot so that the car knows when the boot is open, so it can turn the light on. the light isn't working in my boot and it isn't the globe so i thought i'd check the switch first.

As my first reply states, its either in the boot lid lock housing or in the striking bolt housing in
the boot lip (seal). But, i'd check the fuses first to make sure they are fine. If the switch does
not work then the boot won't trigger the alarm if set (one way of testing is to roll down the
drivers window, turn the alarm on, wait 20 or so seconds (until the security light goes away)
and then open the boot using the boot release button on the dash (above the fuse box).
